A regular meeting of the Python Software Foundation ("PSF") Board of Directors was held over Group Conference Call via phone and Internet Relay Chat/Slack beginning at 13:00 UTC, on October 9, 2024. Deb Nicholson took notes/minutes.

The following members of the Board of Directors (9 of 12) were present at the meeting: Dawn Wages, Christopher Neugebauer, Cheuk Ting Ho, KwonHan Bae, Deb Nicholson, Jannis Leidel, Georgi Ker, Denny Perez, Simon Willison.

- Joined Open Regulatory Compliance Working Group, (ORCWG) hosted by Eclipse Foundation to collaborate on software repository response to the Cyber Resilience Act. Attended the kickoff meeting and created an Eclipse account for contributing to GitLab.
- CPython Sigstore verification material migration and fixes are complete.
- Submitted PEP 761, about deprecating GPG signatures in favor of Sigstore bundles. The pre-PEP discussion showed there weren’t any show-stoppers (yet) for using Sigstore bundles only. Debian opened a ticket to add Sigstore support to their tooling which is a good sign. Beginning authorship of the PEP with Hugo as a sponsor.

The PSF discussed the decision of Working Group membership by the Executive Director and voted on the following resolution:
RESOLVED that the Board of the Python Software Foundation affirms that the Executive Director holds, and has held, the right to amend the memberships of working groups from time to time, subject to the oversight of the Board or its Executive Committee. Any previous actions of the Executive Director or her predecessors that were within the authority granted by this resolution are hereby ratified and adopted as actions of the Foundation.
